The Network (Green Day’s biggest nemesis), who made their long awaited return earlier in the month, have today released their new EP ‘Trans Am EP’.

The new EP was announced on Billie Joe Armstrong’s Instagram account that has been overtaken by The Network’s frontman Fink. His new Instagram bio reading “The Network is the greatest thing to happen to 2020 since 2003.”

The Networks debut album ‘Money Money 2020’ was released back in 2003 but since then the band have been pretty quiet. The new EP has arrived before the bands upcoming ‘Money Money 2020 Part II’ due to arrive on 4th December.

Earlier in the month, The Network’s new song was spotted by Green Day Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong who responded “What the actual fuck? @thenetwork”, clearly Billie is a super-fan of the band, We might have missed the new song if it wasn’t for him…

Green Days Bass Guitarist, Mike Dirnt, also put in a word about the band on his Instagram, responding to tweet from Warner Records that read “We are excited to welcome [The Network] to our esteemed roster. It’s not everyday you have the honor of signing [Green Days] biggest nemesis.”

Mike replied to this with “@thenetwork you want WAR… you got one!!!” going on to add “27 years on reprise records and this shit happens!!! WTF”
