Every Time I Die makes their highly anticipated return with two new songs ‘A Colossal Wreck’ and ‘Desperate Pleasures’.
The band from Buffalo New York haven’t released new music since 2016. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of the metalcore icons. This is the first taste of new music from the bandâs ninth studio album. The return has come out of nowhere to the pleasure of fans all over.
Recently Keith Buckley has shared that the new songs are âTwo sides of the same reactionary coinâ and reiterated they are heavily influenced by the current state of the world stating âWhile âA Colossal Wreckâ looks around at the current state of the world and says âlife is a punishment and only the worst of us thriveâ and, âDesperate Pleasuresâ takes a more optimistic approach and renounces the nihilistic/accelerationist attitude of the voice that came before. It says that without hope, even in the face of such universal anguish, only death is certain and to give up now when those around us need it most is a treacherous act of pure cowardice. That said, Iâm not sure which is worse, being a coward or being a cynic. Probably a coward. At least cynics have a sense of humour.â
Unfortunately for ETID fans, Buckley has stated that the band doesnât plan on releasing the new album until live music is back in an interview with the Peer Pleasure Podcast saying “Everyoneâs music deserves to be toured on if they put everything into it that they, you know, hold sacred which is what you try to do when youâre in a recording studio.â However, ETID has announced a Christmas stream for the 19th December. Steve Micciche has confirmed they play a new song on Twitter.
