The wait for a new album from ska-punk legends The Mighty Mighty BossTones is nearly over, as the band have announced that on the 7th May they will be releasing their 11th studio album titled ‘When God Was Great’.
This will be their first album to release under Hellcat Records. Along with the announcement of the new album, the BossTones also unveiled their latest single in ‘I Dont Believe In Anything’.
‘When God Was Great’ has been co-produced by Ted Hutt (Dropkick Murphys, The Gaslight Anthem) and Tim Armstrong (Rancid, Operation Ivy, Downfall) and boasts 15 new tracks from the band. This will be The BossTones first album since 2018’s ‘While We’re At It’
Frontman Dicky Barrett had this to say about the new album. “We were lightly writing songs before the insanity without any sort of timeline in mind. All of a sudden, the world changed and benchmark events in a very long career that we were looking forward to, such as playing with the Madness at the Greek Theatre, were taken away from us. With all of this time on our hands, we started writing at a quickened pace and we were really inspired. As grim as everything around us was in the outside world, this was the most fun we ever had making a record.”
