This 1977 7″ vinyl has sold for almost £8,000. The 1977 Misfits ‘Cough / Cool b/w She’ 7″ vinyl was the bands first-ever release. There was only 500 copies of the vinyl made, and is the only Misfits release to feature Manny Martínez.

Earlier in the year, someone on Discogs bought one of these very rare 7″ for a whopping $10,877 (About £7,833.72), which was the most expensive items sold on Discogs in January 2021.

Previously, we’ve seen a handful of this release being sold for a few thousand dollars each, however each of those were in varying conditions. According to the seller, the reason this one was so highly valued, was because of its impressive sound quality and that the “Last copy on eBay sold for $10,877.”

Despite how eye-watering it’s price tag might seem, in comparison to other rarer vinyl discs it looks realativly cheap. For example The Sex Pistols’ ‘God Save The Queen / No Feeling’ 7″ vinyl, which the record label ordered to be destroyed. With only a few surviving out of the 25,000 original pressing, to make it one of the most valuable punk records in the world – With an estimated value of £8,500-£15,000+ (About $10,956-$19,334+).

Elsewhere, Ringo Starr’s pre-owned copy of the very first UK mono pressing of The Beatles’ White Album sold at auction for a whopping $790,000 (About £569,364.85).
