Dropkick Murphys Announce ‘Turn Up That Dial’ Album Release Party

4 years ago | April 20, 2021 | Written By

Dropkick Murphys have announced a ‘Turn Up That Dial’ Album Release Party free stream, fueled by Death Wish Coffee…and sponsored by YOU. Dropkick Murphys will return to the virtual stage on May 1 at 8:30 PM ET / 5:30 PM PT / 12:30 AM GMT.

The new streaming performances – With no in-person audience – will see the band celebrating the April 30th release of the band’s 10th full-length studio album ‘Turn Up That Dial’. It will be simulcast worldwide via www.DKMstream.com and will feature a completely new set with songs from the band’s new album, along with a variety of fan favorites. The band will be performing socially distanced on an arena-sized stage with a full LED screen once again.

Instead of charging for tickets to the ‘Turn Up That Dial’ Album Release Party Stream, the band will “pass the virtual hat” to take donations to help support their efforts to keep paying their employees, and a portion of donations will go to charity as always.

It follows on from a virtual stream the band did to celebrate St Patrick’s Day last month, which was #1 on Pollstar’s Livestream chart for the week ending March 22, 2021, logging over 1 million views. Check out our review of it here. Dropkick Murphys also held the #3 spot on Pollstar’s “Top 2020 Livestreams” chart for last year’s landmark Streaming Outta Fenway livestream, which drew more than 5.9 million viewers.

Here’s what you can expect from the stream:

The band’s new album, produced by Ted Hutt, is due out on April 30 via Born & Bred Records. Talking about the new release previously, founder and co-lead vocalist Ken Casey explained, ”On this record, the overall theme is the importance of music, and the bands that made us who we are. We just hope [the album] takes people’s minds off their troubles.”

“We’re so fortunate and grateful to be in the position to share a little happiness in our own way. Our gratitude levels are off the chart. Twenty-five years ago, somebody bet me 30 bucks I couldn’t form a band with three weeks’ notice to open for his band. As kids, we’d never been out of New England and here we are – we’ve made 10 records and have been all over the globe. If there’s a message to this album, it’s, ‘Put your fist up and play it loud.’”
