Fresh from the release of their recent remix EP ‘5G’, Northlane are back to share their new Ep release called ‘2D’.
The new five-track EP will feature acoustic version of fan-favourites from the band’s Alien era.
Explaining how ‘2D’ will add another dimension to these tracks, vocalist Marcus Bridge says “Recording an acoustic EP is something that we’ve wanted to do for quite some time and felt right with the personal nature of the songs from ‘Alien’. I wanted to strip these songs back to the bare minimum to juxtapose the soundscapes of the album, a 2D version of sorts. A song like ‘Rift’ has a completely different energy in this context and took on new meaning with the recording in the depths of lockdown, now almost feeling like a cry of frustration and despair.”
Giving us the first taste of the EP, the band have shared their new cut ‘Rift’. Check it out below:
In addition, the ‘2D’ EP will contain a heartbreaking stripped-back version of ‘Sleepless’, which originally debuted in the band’s 2020 documentary ‘Negative Energy’. Celebrating the release of both ‘2D’ and ‘5G’, the band will also sell a limited run exclusive 12-inch on coloured vinyl. Fans can now pre-order via unfdstore.com.
‘2D’ Tracklist:
1. Bloodline (acoustic)
2. Rift (acoustic)
3. 4D (acoustic)
4. Enemy Of The Night (acoustic)
5. Sleepless (acoustic)
