We’ve recently heard that AC/DC will be reuniting with original members, now the band is starting to tease their upcoming single called ‘Shot In The Dark’. The new single was first teased to the bands social media pages on Friday, but the song has now turned up into a car advert.

The car ad references 2006s comedy film ‘Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby’, with actor Gary Cole reprising his role as Reese Bobby, who’s on the chase for his 10-year-old son Ricky Bobby and Cal Naughton Jr. his friend. The ad sees the trio driving the 2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock, 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye. The original film also featured some AC/DC music in the form of the bands song T.N.T.

Oliver Francois, Dodge’s Chief Marketing Officer said “We needed to stay 100 percent true to the spirit of the original film, while simultaneously communicating the Dodge brand’s record of ‘firsts’ as ranked by our owners”

“Maintaining brand authenticity extended beyond Sony Pictures, including our music alliance with Columbia Records and AC/DC, in addition to Gary Cole reprising his role as Reese Bobby, and having the original movie’s cinematographer, Oliver Wood, involved with this project.” he added.

“Together, we were able to accomplish this epic creative endeavour celebrating the Dodge brand’s first-place wins, which could almost be envisioned as a deleted scene from the original movie.”
