Texan grungers Blacktop Mojo have premiered the second video from their forthcoming self-titled record releasing August 13th.
Telling the story of an evil spirit named Asgina – the Cherokee word for evil – ‘Wicked Woman’ follows the video for the track “Tail Lights.” The video was directed by Dustin Dow and produced by Cuhmon Entertainment, and was filmed at River Run ATV Park in Jacksonville, Texas.
“We’re all big fans of classic slasher films.” Says frontman Matt James. “They’re the perfect combination of goofiness and horror and we felt that Wicked Woman really lent itself to that concept. The song is among my favorites on the new album, and bringing it to life in a video was a blast!”

Formed in late 2012 by vocalist Matt James and drummer Nathan Gillis in the small East Texas town of Palestine, Blacktop Mojo’s fiery blend of sludgy grooves, classic rock guitar riffs, and southern metal shredding falls somewhere between Soundgarden and Lynyrd Skynyrd to form a sound deemed by some as “Texas Grunge”.
