The Sisters Of Mercy Announce Support For Roundhouse Shows

The Sisters Of Mercy have announced who will be supporting them for each of their upcoming London Roundhouse shows, which are set to celebrate their 40th anniversary.

The three shows will be taking place on September 10th, 11th, and 12th at London’s historic Roundhouse, and will see the legendary Jesus Jones supporting the band – performing their first show since 2019.

Saturday 11th will see the classically trained ā€œDeath Gospelā€ singer A.A. Williams open up the shows.

Leeds post-rock quintet I Like Trains are set to open the final night at the venue.

Talking about the tour when it was initially announced the band said ā€œIt howls, itā€™s grindingly beautiful, and itā€™s probably heading your way.ā€

Going on to say ā€œNew and hence unreleased songs make up half of any Sistersā€™ set these days, although the classics get a good thrashing in rotation. Having derived their light show from the Big Bang (gleefully inventing rave lighting in the process), the Sisters see no reason to tone it down, and will be exploding in all their usual glory at the next suitable opportunity.ā€

The band last played in the UK just before the lockdowns began, with them completing a short run of four shows days before the country had to lockdown. The band havenā€™t released a new studio album since 1990ā€™s ā€˜Vision Thingā€™, despite promising that they would do so if Donald Trump was elected as President of the United States back in 2016.
