Live Review: Imperial Age – New World Tour, London

I’m pretty sure we can all agree that shows getting postponed is frustrating, so when the Imperial Age had their UK tour postponed 5 times, it’s safe to say many were wondering if it would even go ahead. Well, the tour has gone ahead and the final stop on their voyage across Britania is The Dome in London! Here’s what went down.

Opening proceedings for the evening was Control The Storm who actually won a competition to have the privilege of opening for Imperial Age back in 2019 – so for them to still honour this is quite something. The fans quickly showed their excitement for the support and the energy around the venue felt quite special. Control The Storm put on a high-octane performance full of passion and charisma that only fed the fan’s morale more. Whether it was waving around inflatable swords or headbanging uncontrollably, The entire room was glued to their set and the band received an incredible roar of approval as they said goodbye to the London masses.

The wait had finally come to an end and Imperial Age took to the stage for their biggest headline show ever. The atmosphere was electric and from the first note, you just knew this was going to be a special night. Beautiful harmonies matched with melodic brilliance continued to entice the masse in The Dome. From the front to the back, everyone seemed to be happy and the fact a lot of these fans had waited years for this very moment just made the occasion that much more meaningful.

Pulling out all the stops, the band delivered a career-spanning set and despite playing for 2 hours, the show flowed beautifully and never seemed to lose its momentum. Often, when bands play sets of this length, the show can start to feel as if it’s dragging, however Imperial Age managed to utilize both slow and fast tracks to keep the crowd on their toes and as the set drew to a close, everyone in attendance was willing to leave everything they had in The Dome that night.

After such a long wait, Imperial Age managed to surpass everyone’s expectations. Their largest headline set to date may go down as one of their best set’s yet and I think you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who didn’t agree. As the venue emptied, I was surrounded by a sea of smiles and glee so it’s safe to say the Imperial Age produced one hell of a night!
