With the return of Bloodstock less than 2 weeks away, the excitement levels are building! Fans from around the UK will culminate in Catton Park once again in a metal mass for the ages, and with so many great bands to choose from this year, we at The Rock Fix thought we would share our must-see acts for this year’s festival!Â
DARK TRANQUILLITY – THURSDAY 11TH – SOPHIE LANCASTER STAGE
Thursday night is your first chance to catch some live bands at the festival and you are in for a real treat as Dark Tranquillity is set to headline the Sophie Lancaster stage! The Swedish metallers will bring their exciting blend of Gothic, and Melodic Death Metal to Bloodstock to kick start everyone’s weekend in the right way!Â
EXODUS – FRIDAY 12TH – RONNIE JAMES DIO STAGE
Thrash Metal giants Exodus are set for their triumphant return to the UK this summer. With the success of their 2021 release ‘Persona Non Grata’, the band have a lot of excitement surrounding them once again and fans should expect pits galore during this set. No nonsense thrash metal returns to Catton Park and Exodus are the couriers.
AVATAR – FRIDAY 12TH- SOPHIE LANCASTER STAGE
Avatar has taken the metal world by storm as of late, creating their own collective known as Avatar Country that is full of their most devoted fans, the band have utilized their eccentric stage presence and charisma and created something that has elevated the band to new heights. With the success of the band 4 live stream show’s during their Avatar Ages series, fans should expect a live show quite unlike anything that has come before it.Â
INGESTED – SATURDAY 13TH – SOPHIE LANCASTER STAGE
The kings of Slamchester take to the Sophie Lancaster stage Saturday afternoon and boy are these guys something live! One of the pioneers of the UK slam scene, Ingested has been a force to be reckoned with for some time now. Coming off the back of a stacked UK tour and a festival circuit seeing them perform at festivals such as Hellfest, the band will be showing no sign of ring rust when they perform for the hoards at Catton Park.
THE KUNTS – SATURDAY 13TH – JAGERMEISTER STAGE
If you’ve been living in the UK over the last few years, you almost certainly have heard about The Kunts. Not afraid to say what they think, song’s like ‘Boris Johnson Is A F***ing C**t’, ‘Prince Andrew Is A Sweaty N***e’ and most recently, ‘F**k Off Boris You C**t’ have taken the country by storm. Whimsical tunes about serious topics are a recipe for greatness at a festival so why not show your rebellious side at this year’s Bloodstock?
VENDED – SUNDAY 14TH – RONNIE JAMES DIO STAGE
One of the most exciting newcomers to the metal scene, Vended is set to make its UK debut opening up the Ronnie James Dio Stage on Sunday morning. The band have seen a lot of attention due to featuring the offspring of Slipknot’s Clown and Corey Taylor however they have delivered the goods in a big way with their most recent release ‘Ded To Me’ already amassing 181,000 streams on Spotify alone! If you’re still kicking at the early hours of the final day, you have got to get down to check these guys out.Â
HERIOT – SUNDAY 14TH – SOPHIE LANCASTER STAGE
The UK has some amazing up-and-coming talent in the metal scene and Heriot is one of the ones shining the brightest at this point in time. Their contrasting style is something new and fresh and it has allowed them to amass quite the diverse following off the back of a rigorous touring cycle. Their most recent album ‘Profound Morality’ has seen a massive surge of popularity in the band so why not check out what all the fuss is about on your last day to party?
