Live Review: As Everything Unfolds Album Launch Live Stream

As Everything Unfolds have made quite the splash into the metal scene since the release of ‘Within Each Lies the Other’. The band – who are scheduled to play the Download Pilot next weekend – have arranged an album launch live show for fans who are eager to hear these tracks live. Here’s what went down!

The band opened with ‘Take Me There’ accompanied by a barrage of strobe lighting. The audio had been mixed well and Charlie’s vocals sounded just as impressive live as they do on the record. Sudden changes from cleans to gutturals is hard to pull off for some but clearly not for her.

Following that was the track ‘Stranger In The Mirror’ and the intensity was unreal. It was great to see the band have so much chemistry and look comfortable right off the bat performing in front of the camera. The powerful song was delivered with as much aggression and angst as you’d expect from As Everything Unfolds, so it’s safe to say that they have not disappointed thus far.

Venturing back to their debut ep next and the band pulled out ‘17:10’. The virtual crowd seemed extremely excited about this number and the band once again delivered. Nailing the synth melody that is so predominant on the recording was a big part of what made this performance so memorable for me. Not to mention just how hard the breakdown went.

Not wasting a moment, The band launch right into ‘Hiding from Myself’. Charlie’s emphatic delivery of the track’s chorus was something to behold and the chaotic lighting added to the chaos being created onstage. Musically, the band sounded tight and managed to feed off each other brilliantly.

Continuing with the heavy hitters, the next song was ‘Greyscale’. Full of emotion and passion, As Everything Unfolds nailed slowing it down and delivering a more moving track. From Charlie’s eye-watering vocal delivery to the instrumental melody harmonising behind her, the band showed that they have what it takes to deliver any style they need to.

Going back to their EP once again, ‘Divided’ continued the momentum well and once again, the fans in the virtual crowd went wild for the older track. Virtual pits and singalongs were in full force while As Everything Unfolds continued to perform to an extremely high level.

After that, the band unleashed their biggest song to date in ‘On The Inside’. Unison and harmony were what was displayed throughout the performance of this track. Every member of the band looked to be having an amazing time performing these tracks which added to the virtual performance. Nothing beats a band that knows what they’re doing and they know how to have a good time doing it.

Finishing the set was the behemoth of a song titled ‘Wallow’. Gutters and distortion filled the airwaves and the crowd lost their minds. The saying “Save the best till last” is probably the best way of describing just how great the band sounded during this performance. Seamless transitions from the heavy parts to the clean passages had me extremely impressed. As the outro hits, the band unleash their final assault of power and aggression to send the fans home happy.

As Everything Unfolds put on an intense and impressive show for fans and I think the only downside to it was its length. Nevertheless, the up and coming band have an unreal amount of potential and if they continue to perform at this high of a level then I have no doubt that the sky is the limit for them.
