Bedford rockers Don Broco recently took over Brixton Academy for a two night run of shows on their ‘Amazing Things’ tour, we were lucky enough to catch them, here’s what went down on the night.
The October chill could be felt across the venue before the night was kicked off with a high energy set from Kid Brunswick. His genre-blending sound combined with his bouncing off the wall energy managed to warm the crowd up fast, with lots of crowd participation throughout. This set was then followed up by Noisy, who continued the momentum with their alternative blend of genres. Both supports put on intensely energetic sets which thoroughly warmed the crowd for Don Broco.
With the stage clouded in smoke and as the lights went down for the main attraction of the night, the crowd cheered as the band walked onstage to the intro of ‘Manchester Super Reds No.1 Fan’, each band member forming silhouettes from the screens behind them. The anticipation continued to build until the band exploded into life chanting the first lyrics of the night. The first of many songs fans would hear from the band’s latest album ‘Amazing Things’.
The band played effortlessly through their 16 song setlist for the night, which was scattered with Don Broco classics as well as a good chunk of tracks from the bands latest album ‘Amazing Things’. The night came to an end with an encore of ‘Everybody’ and ‘T-Shirt Song’ both of which had the crowd exploding with energy, with the latter seeing multitudes of fans following the songs commandments and taking their t-shirts off, and spinning it around their heads. A very entertaining showing from the Bedford band.
