Another Tour, another sell-out for Hot Milk! The rambunctious band embarked on their largest tour to date with support from Modern Error and Witch Fever and wanted to prove to any doubters that they belonged on the bigger stage! We went down to their show at Kentish Town’s Forum to see what all the fuss was about. Here’s what went down!

Opening band Modern Error brought a raw and enticing sound to the Forum which appeared to go down well with fans from the off. High energy match with chaotic movement on stage tied the whole performance together nicely as the band went from one strength to the next trying to warm up the early comers. Despite not a tonne of movement from the crowd, occasionally you could hear them singing choruses back to the band, and at the end of the set they were met with a decent applause for their efforts.

Following them was the charismatic Witch Fever. Rebellious in nature and not afraid to annoy anyone, the band quickly got the room going once more. Their punk attitude rocked London and the band dominated the stage they were on. They felt at home on a stage of this size and the fans in attendance were not left disappointed at all. Maybe not as energetic as a Witch Fever headline show but the crowd loosened up and were well and truly ready for the main attraction!

Hot Milk would hit the stage to the sounds of ‘Welcome To The…’ before unleashing an onslaught of ‘Horror Show’, ‘Bloodstream’, and ‘I Just Wanna Know What Happens When I’m Dead’ to pure pandemonium. Crowd surfers, mosh pits and headbanging could be seen in every corner of the venue and the joy on the faces of both fans and band was a clear sign of just how special this night was going to be.

The London masses were out in full force and gave their all during songs such as ‘I Think I Hate Myself’ and ‘Zoned Out’ to the delight of the band. As for the stage performance, Hot Milk know how to control their crowd! Constantly encouraging participation and actively interacting with them with whimsical gestures and remarks, the energy in the room was one of pure bliss and euphoria for the fans lucky enough to get a ticket. Bringing a fan up to perform their hit song ‘Candy Coates Lie$’ was an exceptionally nice touch and a core memory for the lucky fan on stage!

The main portion of the set would be closed with ‘Split Personality’ followed by the energetic ‘Forget Me Not’ before the band would re-emerge for an encore. The encore consisted of just one song, ‘Glass Spiders’, which sent the London faithful into one last crazed state to which they left every ounce of energy left in the venue!

What else is there left to say other than well-done Hot Milk? Each tour seems to be getting bigger and the band themselves seem just as in touch with their fans as day one. The resurgence of alternative music to the masses is being led by bands such as Hot Milk and I look forward to the future!
