Live music has been away for some time now so when I saw the opportunity to see one of the hottest new prospects live, I jumped at the opportunity. Immerse headlined an intimate, socially distanced show at The Black Heart in Camden and they brought along Essex rockers Palmist to get things started.

As soon as Palmist took the stage, there was a real sense of excitement. For many, it was the first glimpse of live music in over a year and Palmist delivered an entertaining set. The band seemed full of energy and where happy to just lay down groove after groove that had the crowd jamming along. Charisma and melody made Palmist’s set so enjoyable which got the fans in attendance pumped up for Immerse to take the stage.

Immerse’s return to the stage kicked off with them launching a blistering assault with ‘Vile’. You could feel the crowd eager to unleash upon the music right from the off and the band seemed to feel right at home in The Black Hearts intimate environment. With the venue being such an intimate setting, the music sounded incredible as it reverberated around the venue.

An action-packed yet short set from the Bristol-born band featured performances of songs such as Red Shade, 23/19 and Glass House. A mixture of pure excitement from the crowd and the synergy Immerse managed to generate made the show extremely memorable. Archie constantly showed thanks to the fans in attendance and expressed just how great it felt to be back in a live environment. Despite the limitations of being an all-seated event, Immerse continuously encouraged crowd participation in the form of headbanging along.

The band managed to pull of an extremely entertaining show and showed a lot of poise and passion as the set went on. Staying professional throughout despite some minor issues with Archies microphone, Immerse left a lasting impression on me and I can safely say I’m ready to do it all again in July when they support From Sorrow To Serenity!
