It’s not every day a band makes a TikTok offering ‘entry to a show’ that completely goes viral however that is exactly what happened to Oxford’s own South Arcade. The band kept to their word and offered free tickets to a show at London’s Grace venue which sold out almost instantly! We just had to see how this would go down!

There was a sense of unity amongst the fans in attendance right from the off. It seemed as if everyone was happy to party with everyone else and as Gurl took to the stage to open proceedings, South Arcade’s faithful welcomed them with open arms. An action-packed set with upbeat melodies and powerful choruses attracted the attention of the fans and within no time they were even trying to sing back to the band. High energy was the order of the day for Gurl who did a phenomenal job getting the London crowd warmed up for what was to follow!

All the hype and anticipation had built to this very moment and as South Arcade took to the stage, the entire venue showed their appreciation! Opening their set with ‘Bigger Than Anything Ever’ and swiftly rolled into ‘Dead Meat’ and ‘You Wanna Give It’. From wall to wall, the venue was bouncing and the energy was simply electric! ‘New Fever’ went down a treat while ‘Unaware’ and ‘I Don’t Eat My Friends’ took the show to a whole different level.

Maybe it was the disco balls littered on the ceiling however the room seemed to have their dancing shoes on and they couldn’t help busting out their best moves to the likes of ‘At The Lights’ and ‘Change Your Mind’. This was the real turning point of the night I’m my opinion. The band seemed to go from 100% to 110% and the fans matched it! ‘Make You Fall’ went down a treat while the band announced ‘Danger’ would be their next single and to say this went down well would be an understatement!

What’s a party without a cover thrown into the mix? ‘I Kissed A Girl’ had the entire venue screaming at the top of their lungs before the single that caused this show to happen ‘Sound Of An Empty Room’ took the night to boiling point. Closing out their set was ‘Silver Light’ and everyone from the band to the sound tech couldn’t conceal their smile!

I wondered what a night like this would end up being like, short notice and TikTok hype can go both ways however South Arcade proved they are the future of the scene! An incredible performance that captivated everyone in attendance matched with a genuine interest in their fans is a winning recipe in my opinion! Why not check them out for yourself as they head out on tour with Yours Truly this month?
