Album Review: Capra – Errors

The hardcore scene was shocked and altered when Capra burst onto the scene with their action-packed album ‘In Transmission’ so there is no surprise that their new album ‘Errors’ is catching the attention of many. Capra offers an emotionally driven hardcore to a growing audience and they hope ‘Errors’ can keep their upward trajectory going. Here’s my thoughts on the new release!

Not wasting any time, ‘CHSF’ kicks off the album heavily and chaotically. Attitude to the brim, Capra isn’t about to ease you in, and throw you a track that will decimate any venue it’s played within. If you’re a headbanger, you might want to prepare yourself for a long workout of your neck muscles! Slowing down is not an option here and ‘Tied Up’ brings a beefy beat that only encourages you to let loose. Fast-paced music made to make an impact is what’s on offer here and despite this song only being 2 minutes 21 seconds long, it hits home and resonates well with the listener. Just wait for the breakdown near the end of the track!

Angst and aggression fill ‘Silana’ with a dangerous aura while tracks like ‘Trauma Bond’ and ‘Loser’ build on all the carnage before it and just amplify the chaos. The hardcore esc beats that emanate from these songs really stick with you and make you crave more. Luckily for you, This album has it in abundance! ‘Kingslayer’ has a much more atmospheric intro before returning to your regularly scheduled beat-down music while ‘Human Commodity’ is just begging for one of the gnarliest pit’s you’ve ever seen! Caution as I wouldn’t be surprised if a few spin kicks are busted out to this one!

Unsurprisingly, ‘Transplant’ is more of the same, A tonne of aggression and passion wrapped up in a hard-hitting bow. Heavy as hell and not offering any respite, Capra intends on breaking the world down one breakdown at a time! ‘Obligatory Existence’ unleashes yet another assault of ripping riffs and pinch harmonics while the final assault comes in the form of ‘Nora’. An all-out assault of the sense, ‘Nora’ is an explosion of everything that has built up before it. A power ending to a simply chaotic release!

Errors is an amazing release for the genre it is in however it doesn’t break down any barriers or offer much to fans taking a look in for the first time. Capra knows what they want to be and they are happy being where they are which is amazing. Fans of more hardcore styled music will adore this release and cherish it with all their being!
