AC/DC Confirm Reunion With Original Members

AC/DC have been teasing us all week after the other day when the band put up a tweet of their iconic lightning logo flickering into life. The band have now confirmed that a reunion is taking place, with original members.

Posting to social media, the band confirmed the reunion line up with a poster of the band accompanied by the message “ARE YOU READY? #PWRUP”.

Last month photos leaked on the bands site which show the old members together on what appears to be a music video shoot.

The poster shows lead guitarist Angus Young, rythm guitarist Stevie Young, vocalist Brian Johnson, drummer Phil Rudd, and bassist Cliff Williams.

Before the recording of 2014s ‘Rock or Bust’, rhythm guitarist Malcom Young was forced to leave due to ongoing dementia and other health issues. Youngs nephew Stevie replaced Malcolm as rythm guitarist. The bands drummer Phil Rudd was unable to tour with the album after being arrested in November 2014, and sentenced to 8 months of house arrest for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, and threatening to kill someone.

Frontman Brian Johnson was forced to leave mid tour in 2016, as doctors told him he’d risk permanently losing his hearing if he continued. Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses replaced Johnson to finish the tour. Bassist Cliff Williams announced that he would be retiring from the group shortly before the end of the tour. But now the band is back together.

AC/DCs new album or single will likely be called PWR UP or Power Up, the name first appeared on a poster outside Angus Youngs old high school Ashfield Boys High School in Ashfield, Australia. On the poster read the question asking “ARE YOU READY SYD PWR UP”
