Four piece London Indie band Bloxx, have recently released their new album ‘Lie Out Loud’, which they will be touring next year. We caught up with frontwoman Fee Booth.

Hope you, your band mates and family have been okay over the course of the pandemic. What have you been getting up to during the pandemic?

“Thank you! I’ve been writing more music for the next adventure of BLOXX! And getting ready to hopefully play some shows again next year!”

How did it feel to release an album knowing that it would be a long time before you would be able to play and share it live?

“It sucked but i think it made it easier knowing that it was the safest thing to do for people. We definitely felt a bit bummed about it.”

Back at Reading and Leeds for 2021, for a third time are you excited or nervous? Who’s sets would you like to check out on the festival’s lineup?

“So excited to get back on the R&L stage. It’s my favourite time of year by far. I can’t wait to watch queens of the stone age, we’re all big fans.”

What music inspired you to start making music?

“I think listening to a lot of varied music since my childhood was a big inspiration for me to start writing and learning. I started writing songs when I got my first guitar in year 3. It’s like ingrained in me”

What’s the most embarrassing thing that happened on tour?

“It didn’t happen to me, but on the first day of tour in Liverpool back in 2015, a band member who shan’t be named, blocked a Travelodge toilet within 3 minutes of arriving at the hotel.”

Who would you feel honoured to open for dead or alive?

“Jeff Buckley. Always.”

You’re playing a whole range of venues around the country next year. Which show are you looking forward to the most?

“I love touring so honestly just every show!
The crowds up North and in London always bring it!”

What is your creative process like?

“Cry, Write a song, Hate the song, try to make the song better, cry a bit more, then finish the song. Something like that.”
