Today, Bodom After Midnight release their highly-anticipated three-track EP, Paint The Sky With Blood, via Naplam Records.
While the new EP was supposed to celebrate a new metal era for the band, the news of Alexi Laiho’s death back in January has meant that it now pays tribute to their incomparable frontman, guitarist and creative visionary.
The EP was recorded in the band’s native Finland, and was intended to be followed by a full-length album later in the year, but now embodies a whole new meaning and remains the only work by Bodom After Midnight. The new EP – and band’s final recordings – arrive in full today, alongside a new matching visualiser for ‘Payback’s A Bitch’.
Talking about the EP, the band said”Like ourselves, Alexi was beyond stoked about these songs and anxious to get these out, so we are happy that we can fulfill his wish. Needless to say, we are honored and proud to be a part of his very last creative work and to unleash it the way he wanted it. It’s time to let the beast out of the cage one more time as a celebration of Alexi’s music, legacy and the man himself.”
