Evanescence have performed their new albums lead single, ‘Wasted On You’, on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Check out the new performance below.
Talking about the track when it released, Amy Lee explained “We were recording this music right up until we couldn’t go into the studio anymore, and finished it remotely through file sharing and phone calls.”
“Wasted On You wasn’t the song we were planning to release first, but when the whole world went into indefinite lockdown and everything changed, so did the feeling and meaning of what we wanted to say right now. I didn’t write these lyrics about what we’re all now going through, but somehow that’s exactly what they are.”
On the Jimmy Kimmel Live show, the band performed the single remotely from across the world (California, Georgia, Florida, and Germany), and yet despite not being in the same place, the band managed to pull off an excellent and powerful performance of the song. Check it out below:
The band’s new album, ‘The Bitter Truth’, is set to release on March 26th. The band have so far shared four singles from the upcoming release, including the aforementioned ‘Wasted On You’, ‘The Game Is Over’, ‘Yeah Right’, and ‘Use My Voice’, the latter of which saw the band recruit along Within Temptation’s Sharon den Adel, violinist Lindsey Stirling, Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, and The Pretty Reckless’ Taylor Momsen.
