Brazilian rock band Ego Kill Talent have announced ‘Ego Kill Talent: Acoustic’, a series of three acoustic EPs that are set to arrive this summer. The releases follow on from the band’s new album ‘The Dance Between Extremes’ earlier this year, which arrived with much acclaim from critics and from fellow musicians. The first EP has been released today, Friday 9 July. It features ‘Our Song’, ‘Diamonds & Landmines’, and ‘The Reason’. Two additional EPs will follow at dates TBA. Stay tuned for more info.
As for why the band chose to strip down their songs for these EPs? The answer is as simple as the title of the series.
“Playing these songs acoustically is like a way to immerse ourselves in the softness of our music,” Frontman Jonathan Dörr says.
The first of the three acoustic EP’s is availble now on all streaming platforms here.
The band were originally set to release their last album ‘The Dance Between Extremes’ in one go in May 2020, as well as go on tour with Metallica, and Greta Van Fleet in South America, perform at the majority of the Danny Wimmer festivals in the U.S., and go on tour with System Of A Down in Europe. This meant that the band were set to play 35 shows and 21 key festivals across three continents, however, the band were forced to pivot due to the global shutdowns, opting to split their full-length into three EPs. The Dance EP landed on June 27 2020. The Dance Between EP dropped on December 4 2020. The final part to make up the entire ‘The Dance Between Extremes’ came in March 2021.
