IDLES looks set to grab their first UK number one album with ‘Ultra Mono’, which has outsold the rest of the top five combined in the midweek charts.
In the rest of the top five are Prince, Michael Kiwanuka, Machine Gun Kelly (who’s new album is currently the most streamed new release of the week), and Deftones (looking like they might get their 3rd UK top 10 album).
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the number one album outselling the rest of the top five combined this year. The Killers Sixth number one album recently did the same, with the band being the only international band ever to have six consecutive number 1 studio albums since their debut. And a week before that Biffy Clyro’s ninth studio also out sold the top five combined.
