Indian Synth-Rockers Arogya Release New Single ‘Misery’s Lair’

Indian synth-rock quintet Arogya have released their new single ‘Misery’s Lair’, taken from their new album ‘Genesis’.

The quintet are the first ever synth-rock band to emerge from India, and the first band from Northeast India to sign with an international record label.

The band worked with producer Chris Harms (Lord of the Lost) on their new album ‘Genesis’. According to the press release it “deals with the story of creation both musically and thematically: the past manifests itself in their propulsive synth-rock which highlights 80s nostalgia, while washed-out metal dominates the present and a fine pinch of dark-pop stands for the future.”

The new album offers a possibility of catharsis, lyrically for the mind and sonically for the body, which also draws to the band’s name: Arogya, meaning “healer” in Sanskrit.
