Finnish melodic death metal masters INSOMNIUM share their new single ‘The Conjurer’. The new single comes alongside a video created by renowned director Vesa Ranta.
“We haven’t been idle during the pandemic. ” Niilo Sevänen comments. “The Conjurer is a tragic tale of jealous and searing love that opens this new chapter for Insomnium. Monumental composition by Markus Vanhala that reaches its peak in the soaring dual guitar solo. The wintry music video was shot in the dreamlike landscapes of northern Finland by director Vesa Ranta and his team. More shall follow…”
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing situation surrounding the pandemic, guitarist Ville Friman wasn’t able to join the video shoot.
Check out the new video here:
The song follows from their 2019 album ‘Heart Like A Grave’ which got the band into pole position on the official Finnish album charts, also hitting the German top 10. Since that monumental achievement, the band were once again supposed to entertain the legions of metalheads all around the world. And that’s what the band did, until mid-march last year, when the world abruptly came to a halt.
Alongside the new single the band have dropped a brand new ‘The Conjurer’ inspired t-shirt design. Check it out here.
