Korn’s Brian ‘Head’ Welch has revealed that the band has some “really exciting news coming” soon. In a new interview with Kerrang! the guitarist revealed that while he has been busy focussing on the return of Love and Death, that he’s been “visiting Korn off and on since last summer”.
“I asked the manager, because I’m doing Love And Death but I know people are going to ask me about Korn, and he said, ‘Just tell them the truth. Tell them that you’ve been getting together with them, you’re working on some stuff, and that we’ve got some really exciting news coming out,’” Welch revealed.
Adding “I think we’re gonna make some kind of announcement pretty soon, and that’s pretty much all I can say.”
Head went on to talk about how the pandemic is motivating artists, to use their current downtime to be creative, saying “I think it’s no secret that every band is getting together and there’s probably going to be a lot of records coming out.”
Head revealed that it’s hard for the band to collaborate right now, due to the pandemic, saying “We’ve been throwing ideas back and forth, but it’s been hard because of the pandemic and whatnot because Munky [James Shaffer, guitar] lives in Los Angeles – right in the thick of it. One in five people has it there. Thank god Munky has not got it, he lives with his wife and her family, and his mother-in-law, they’ve gotta be careful with her.”
“It’s been really crazy, but we managed to get together and we’re deciding what we’re gonna do, but we’re coming up with some cool ideas and are hopefully going to make an announcement pretty soon.”
Korn released their thirteenth studio album back in 2019, called ‘The Nothing’. Whilst Love And Death are currently gearing up to release their new album Perfectly Preserved on February 12th.
