Manic Street Preachers Frontman James Dean Bradfield has revealed that the band have been working on a new album over lockdown.
In an interview with Radio X, the frontman said that the band’s next album, won’t contain any references to the coronavirus pandemic, because it would be like “adding insult to injury”.
“Myself and the Manics, we’ve been demoing in the last month or so, but obviously that stopped again [due to the current firebreak lockdown in wales]”
“So the one thing we can do is we can write songs. Obviously we’re not going to be doing a gig any time soon, so we’re just doing a new record.”
James added “We’re trying to make sure that we’re not writing about the [Coronavirus] situation too much. It would feel like it was adding insult to injury.”
Earlier this month the band postponed their NHS charity gigs until 2021.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions for the live music industry, the Manics have moved their previously announced shows in December at the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena to Fri 16th & Sat 17th July 2021. All tickets remain valid.
