Welsh rockers Manic Street Preachers have shared the second single from their upcoming fourteenth album ‘The Ultra Vivid Lament’. The new single, entitled ‘The Secret He Had Missed’, features Sunflower Bean’s Julia Cumming and is one of two duets on the album â the other being âBlank Diary Entryâ featuring Mark Lanegan. Check it out below.
The track comes accompanied by a new video directed by the band’s long-time collaborator Kieran Evans, and stars fellow Welsh star Aimee-Ffion Edwards who’s previously been in ‘Peaky Blinders’, ‘Skins’, and ‘The Detectorists’.
The song explores the lives of Augustus and Gwen John – âWelsh sibling artists who were opposites united by blood yet driven apart by divergent lifestylesâ.
