Mimi Barks Announces Debut Album ‘THIS IS DOOM TRAP’

Doom Trap icon, Mimi Barks, has announced the upcoming release of her long awaited debut album ‘THIS IS DOOM TRAP’. Alongside the announcement the artist has also shared new single ‘FSU’, check it out down below.

“Welcome to a sonic journey through my pain-body and a guide on how to deal with it,” Mimi Barks explains, “The only way out is through. But everything is Rhythm and you’ll find yourself where you began eventually, on a slightly higher plane with new but similar challenges.”

And the first hit in this sonic journey comes in the form of ‘FSU’ – short for Fuck Shit Up – the first piece of new music that Mimi Barks has released since her critically acclaimed mixtape ‘DEADGIRL’. Check it out here:

“It’s funny how I wrote this track inspired by me constantly fucking up relationships with people I engage or work with.” Mimi reveals about here new single, “As a butterfly can cause a storm by flapping its wings several weeks earlier, with my wings… much more like those of a Pterosaurs. Makes me wonder if I’m the mad person or if I’m just following the path that’s been laid out for me, playing my part in this chaos theory.”

‘THIS IS DOOM TRAP’ is set to release on Friday 26th September 2024 via Silent Cult.

Enjoying a successful rise over the last few years, Mimi Barks last year played to audiences across the UK and Europe appearing at festivals like Download, 2000 Trees, Graspop, and Full Force as well as joining tours with rock giants like Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Combichrist, and Saint Agnes.

She shows no signs of slowing down in 2024, returning to stages across the UK and Europe from this March, starting with a tour alongside Brighton’s Yonaka. Beginning in Brussels, the tour will see Mimi and co stopping off along way at London’s Koko on the 19th before concluding at Brighton’s Chalk on the 27th. Check out full dates below.
