Royal Blood Share New SebastiAn Remix Of ‘Limbo’

After channelling elements of Daft Punk, Justice, and Philippe Zdar on the release of their chart-topping third album ‘Typhoons’, Brighton duo Royal Blood have continued their appreciation for innovative, rhythmic French artists by sharing SebastiAn’s new remix of ‘Limbo’. Check it out below.

This represents just their second-ever official remix after Purple Disco Machine reworked the album’s lead single ‘Trouble’s Coming’. In the hands of the influential and long-standing Ed Banger artist SebastiAn, ‘Limbo’ has become a very different beast. The producer has stripped the raw barrage of the original version, instead emphasising spacious beats, luminous disco guitar, and Mike Kerr’s fluid falsetto. The resulting mix captures Royal Blood’s energy and dynamics with some fresh French touch flair.

Described by Huck as “one of the superstar producers from the Ed Banger stable with some of the best ears in the business,” SebastiAn has collaborated with an array of leading talents. As well as contributing extensively to Frank Ocean’s ‘Endless’ and ‘Blonde’ albums, his remixes have been sought after by everyone from Justice and Daft Punk to Foals and Beastie Boys. His own highly acclaimed artist career has also yielded two studio albums, ‘Total’ and ‘Thirst’.

The ‘Limbo’ remix emerges as Royal Blood participate in Radio 1’s Big Weekend of Live Music 2021, which starts today. The duo performed a live set in front of the neon-soaked backdrop of their hometown landmark Brighton Pier, which will be broadcast on Radio 1 and available to watch on BBC Sounds.

Talking about ‘Limbo’ upon its original release, the band comments “It is without a doubt the most ambitious and wildest we have allowed ourselves to be and we can’t wait to invite you this far down the rabbit hole with us.”
