A lawsuit between the Fyre Festival organisers, Blink-182 has been settled.

The trustee, Gregory Messer, overseeing the $26 million bankruptcy of Billy McFarland’s Fyre Media, has made settlements with the artists scheduled to perform at the festival, according to Billboard. They have collected $360,000 of the $2.8 million which was paid to artists that were supposed to play the festival. Messer filed 14 lawsuits last December, to try and reclaim money on the $14.4 million that Fyre Media paid out trying to organise the festival.

Fyre Festival paid Creative Artist Agency $585,000, with $500,000 being used to pay Blink-182. $135,000 was returned out of that money. Paradigm artists was paid $1.5 million from the festival, for Major Lazer and Disclosure, and have returned $225,000. The festival also paid $730,000 to Nue Agency, with $100,000 being returned, this included $50,000 from Pusha T, $25,000 from Desiigner, and $20,000 from Tyga. With Desiigner and Tyga repaying their share with a monthly plan.

A similar lawsuit was launched back in August 2019 by another Fyre Festival trustee. They demanded that Blink-182, and the influencers Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski payed back the fees they were paid for promoting the festival. US Marshals also auctioned off Fyre Festival Merchandise to try and reimburse victims who lost out because of the festival.

Blink-182 was due to play the 2017 festival in the Bahamas. The festival was cofounded by Billy McFarland (Who has been sentenced to 6 years in prison for fraud) and the rapper Ja Rule. The festival made headlines across the world at the time as the event was cancelled because of serious organisational and logistical problems. We highly recommend you watch the Netflix ‘FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened’ documentary to fully understand the organisational issues.
