The Pretty Reckless have premiered a new video for their single ‘Only Love Can Save Me Now’ Featuring Matt Cameron & Kim Thayil. Check it out below.

“It’s hard to describe the feeling around our song ‘Only Love Can Save Me Now,” Taylor Momsen says. “The song was born out of tragedy and brought to life by two of my favorite musicians of all time — Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil. Hearing them play it is simply surreal. This song represents getting through the worst time in my life, and yet, is one of my proudest achievements. It means that there is hope, and that life has to go on, and most importantly, is worth living.”

Kim Thayil adds “It was super fun to spend time in the studio with Taylor, Ben, and Matt, and to have the opportunity to contribute to this The Pretty Reckless song. ‘Only Love Can Save Me Now’ has elements of classic Soundgarden and the riff would probably be at home on Louder Than Love.”

“These are great guitar parts that Ben came up with. They lay down a heavy foundation that allows the entire song to open up with Taylor’s powerful and haunting vocals. Cheers, and thanks to The Pretty Reckless for inviting Matt and me to play on this track!”

Matt Cameron says “Kim and I had a blast recording with Taylor and The Pretty Reckless on their new single ‘Only Love Can Save Me Now,’ a fantastic rock track that sounds amazing at full volume. Many thanks to the band for inviting us to play on their new album Death By Rock And Roll.”

The album is the first from the band to be made without long-time producer Kato Khandwala, who sadly died back in April 2018 in a motorcycle accident. The new album will also see the band working with Soundgardens Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil, as well as Rage Against The Machine/Prophets Of Rage’s Tom Morello.

Talking to Forbes, Taylor Momsen said “We worked really hard on this album and we went through a lot of loss, a lot of tragedy, and we really poured our hearts and souls into it and in a way I can’t express verbally. It’s all there in the music, so that’s why I say it feels like a rebirth. It almost feels like the first record in a sense, because we really had to go back to the beginning after losing Kato, our producer. I’m just really excited for people to hear it because, in my opinion, it’s the best album we’ve ever made so it’s hard to sit on this music.”

Adding “We talked about holding the song ‘Death By Rock And Roll’ for longer too, and I was, like, ‘I can’t do this. I can’t just sit on this album forever.’ The world needs music and music has such a healing thing to it, and it saved my life, time and time again. If we put out a song and if it can put a smile on some people’s faces, great, we’ll take it from there. That’s kind of what we’re doing — we’re riding the wave. This is just such an unprecedented time so we’re trying to take it step by step, and see where things go. Everything is still up in the air, but we are planning on releasing more singles before the full album is out. There’s going to be more music to come.”
