Fast-rising UK based upstarts VEXED have released the third single, ‘Misery’, from their upcoming album ‘Culling Culture’. Check it out below.
“Anxiety is a demon powerful enough to posses anyone and can leave the strongest of us feeling helpless.” The band said about the new track. ““Misery” is an inner monologue of an anxiety riddled mind constantly overanalysing and catastrophising. Taking inspiration from a spectrum of genres, this track is a true musical representation of how drastically our thoughts can change from one moment to the next, often ending in confusion and “Misery””
On the new track the four-piece fluctuates between grooving, ethereal leads, and destructive, airtight riffs, technically adept drumming, and vocalist Megan Targett’s undeniably dynamic, haunting vocal power.

The new album will be out May 21 via Napalm Records, and can be pre-ordered here. ‘Culling Culture’ is a tribute to hate, betrayal and anger, whilst also reflecting post-modern society with strikingly honest songwriting and heavy groove.

The Hertfordshire group formed back in March 2019, and have since carved their mark into the metal scene, with their desire for heavy groove, unfiltered lyricism and technical proficiency.
Before signing with Napalm Records, VEXED previously have released two singles independently, showing off their “potent combination of aggressive groove mixed with ominous threads of progressive atmosphere”. Unfortunately, the pandemic stopped the bands planned tour with Whitechapel last year, along with a set at Bloodstock Festival 2020.
