While She Sleeps Announce 10th Anniversary Reissue of The North Stands For Nothing

Sheffield based metalcore band While She Sleeps have announced a limited run of their third EP ‘The North Stands For Nothing’. Releasing 2 new colourway pressings limited to 300 apiece. This unique reissue comes in clear orange, and white and red slapper. The vinyl has the lyrics of each song etched into the B side of the record with the entire EP fitting on the A-side

The EP was released originally on the 26th July 2010 and saw the start of the rise of While She Sleeps. It was released to fairly positive reviews with Metal Hammer reviewer Terry Bezer complimenting the band’s use of both heavy and melodic elements. Continuing to grow of the positive press, sleep went on to try and expand their horizons. Touring with then up and coming bands such as Bury Tomorrow, Parkway drive and Bring me the horizon, the band quickly established themselves in the metalcore scene.

Interestingly the EP was recorded in The Barn which is still where the band write and record a lot of their music to this day. In fact, drummer Adam Savage admitted they “had never been in a studio” before their BBC session back in 2011. Momentum didn’t slow down for the sleep brothers. Metal Hammer released a Digipack version of the EP with their magazine in August 2011 which saw the band’s popularity skyrocket. Playing sold-out shows over the next year, the band released a new single in Be(lie)ve. This was originally a stand-alone single however it ended up making its way onto the deluxe edition of the EP which was released in 2012.

While She Sleeps recently released the title track from their upcoming album ‘Sleeps Society’ as well as announcing an intimate tour cycle for mid-2021. Furthermore, the band announced a Patreon which offers fans an insight to the band’s studio life. Sleep has been very vocal in the past about how important fans are to the music scene. From releasing a t-shirt at the equivalent price of 5000 Spotify streams to opening their studio to fans for random events.
