In a blaze of rock ‘n’ roll glory, the iconic Marquee Club is set to return for one night only as Fender unveils their all-new vintage-style line of electric guitars and basses, the Vintera II series. This epic revival, taking place tomorrow (Wednesday 20th September 2023), promises to be a rock and punk extravaganza with performances from Soft Play, Nova Twins, and Lambrini Girls. A highly limited number of free tickets are available now via a raffle HERE.

Established in 1958, The Marquee Club was a legendary music hub that witnessed the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, The Sex Pistols, and countless other iconic artists grace its stage before it closed its doors in 2008. Now, for one unforgettable night, the Marquee Club will rise from the ashes to host a lineup of incredible artists and celebrate the launch of Fender’s Vintera II series.

Talking about the upcoming show, Soft Play said “We’re absolutely buzzing to take the stage at the pop-up of the legendary Marquee Club and be part of the Vintera II launch event. Laurie and I are really enjoying being back on the gig circuit and can’t wait to bring an unforgettable experience to our fans, while supporting this new era of music gear.”

Nova Twins added “We’re always here to celebrate the London punk scene, it’s what birthed us. We’re really excited to be playing the legendary Marquee Club and can’t wait to tear it up with Soft Play and Lambrini Girls!”

During the night of music, each band will showcase their own Vintera II guitars. Soft Play’s bassist, Laurie Vincent, will wield his new Vintera II ’70s Competition Mustang Bass. Additionally, both Nova Twins’ bassist, Georgia South, and Lambrini Girls’ bassist, Lilly Macieira, will rock the stage with the Vintera II ’70s Telecaster Bass. Nova Twins’ Amy Love will also unleash her skills on the ’70s Stratocaster, while Lambrini Girls’ guitarist, Phoebe Lunny, will captivate the audience with a Vintera II ’50s Jazzmaster.

With a rich musical heritage that mirrors the Marquee Club’s legendary status, the Vintera II Series pays homage to iconic Fender guitars of the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s, with cutting edge features and bold design, presenting an unforgettable addition to Fender’s historic electrics portfolio.

Following the initial Vintera series from 2019, this release encompasses refinements in era-correct neck shapes, vintage-voiced pickups, along with custom colour options for Fender’s timeless models, whilst also unveiling all-new sought-after treasures like the 70’s Jaguar and 60’s Bass VI, enhancing the collection with such rare finds.

Evan Jones, CMO of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, expressed his excitement: “We are beyond excited to bring these leading artists together for a special one-night-only event, resurrecting the legendary Marquee Club to introduce the new Vintera II series.”
