Texas’s favourite pop-punk quartet Bowling For Soup have announced a new single which is due to release later this month, ahead of their double UK return in the Spring of this year.
The new single ‘I Wanna Be Brad Pitt’ is set for release on the 25th of February 2022 and pays homage to the Oscar-winning actor in true Bowling For Soup style.
Talking ahead of the release of the new single, Bowling For Soup frontman, Jaret Reddick, gave some insight as to why the band penned the tribute to the Hollywood legend, saying “Everyone who knows me, knows I love Brad Pitt.”
“I got this chorus in my head while driving one day, and really, the rest kinda just wrote itself. I wanted the song to be a thoughtful tribute and not sacrifice the homage by making fun of him or things in his life. So that’s the direction I went and when it still got laughs from the band, I knew I had hit it out of the park.”
‘I Wanna Be Brad Pitt’ will be the latest in a new set of singles released by Bowling For Soup over the last couple of years. These singles include the global smash hit ‘Alexa Bliss’ (A tribute to the WWE star which is about to hit to 4 million views on YouTube alone), the life affirming ‘Getting Old Sucks (But Everybody’s Doing It)’ and most recently the positivity of ‘Killin’ ‘Em With Kindness’.
The new track is availble to pre-save now, on all popular streaming platforms.
